AI IN 3 FLAVORS is a collection of three stories, the first being “The Pied Piper of AI.” Unlike the Pied Piper of Hamelin fairy tale, with mesmerized children following the tune of the Pied Piper, today’s Pied Piper is followed blindly by the disciples of AI (artificial intelligence), the new religion, and the hype of unlimited promises. Exposed are the danger of excessive use of chat-bots that will lessen memory and critical thinking skills over time and will result in the homogenization of thoughts and documents, a warning especially for lawyers.
The ”AI Traveling Snake Oil Show” is about the advancing of AI at warp speed, with billions of dollars being invested in AI ventures of promotors with more hope than products. Then, along came Jones, Barnabas Jones, one who never missed an opportunity to profit from the latest craze or mania. He was a small-time huckster with more modest goals who traveled from town to town in a horse-drawn wagon in search of suckers to buy unregistered AI securities disguised as gifts to those who bought his cure-all snake oil
The ”AI Gold Rush Murders” is about the latest gold rush, to be the first to create AGI (artificial general intelligence) that would suppress reasoning capabilities of humans. As billions of dollars and competition increased, one big-tech company started poaching engineers and scientists from competitors by offering obscene salaries. A smaller though well-funded company did the same, landing three top level employees, all of whom died in what were assumed to be slip-and-fall accidents, but were they?
